Designed by architect <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eero_Saarinen\" target=\"_blank\">Eero Saarinen<\/a>, the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Modern_architecture\" target=\"_blank\">modernist style<\/a> cylinder-shaped brick structure has no windows in the sanctuary, except for a round skylight which casts daylight onto an unembellished marble altar. The <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reredos\" target=\"_blank\">reredos<\/a> or altarpiece screen, designed by <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harry_Bertoia\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Bertoia<\/a>, is made of slim rods of brazed steel with joined crossplates that diffuse light throughout the chapel.
