The Church\u2019s current structure was built in 1884 and designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/William_Ralph_Emerson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">William Ralph Emerson<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shingle_style_architecture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shingle style<\/a>, which draws from both English and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/American_colonial_architecture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Colonial style<\/a> architecture and rejects the highly ornamental patterns of the Victorian era. The plastered textured walls with rustic posts and beams throughout the sanctuary reinforce the humble yet dignified architecture of Colonial America.
